現在の韓国
ソウル五輪での大成功を機に、韓国経済の発展は益々加速していきます。
ソウル五輪開催から今年で23年になりますが、この23年間で韓国と日本の関係が
好転したこともまた、大変喜ばしいことです。
1990年代の韓国は、まだ発展途上といった感じでした。
外国人観光客向けのサービス提供も、外食産業も殆ど発達していませんでした。
お洒落な喫茶店や軽食屋もなく、韓国では韓国料理を食べるのみだったのです。
しかし、多くの国と同盟を結ぶようになったことで、確実に韓国人の意識が
変わったのだと思います。
現在では、どこへ行っても英語表記があるので、観光客が不自由することも
少なくなりました。
そして、2002年の日韓共催のサッカーワールドカップで、日韓は徹底した
連携を取り、そのことが、日韓文化交流を一気に加速させます。
2003年の韓国の人気ドラマ「冬のソナタ」が日本にも入ってきて以来、
韓流ブームが訪れ、その流れを受け継いで、現在は「K-POP」が日本人の心を
掴んでいます。
日韓両国民のいがみ合いの歴史を考えると、日本人の女の子が韓国人アイドルに
熱狂的になっている姿は、本当に信じられないものです。
過去にとらわれない新しいスタイルで日本人も韓国人も交流するようになって
きたことで、「近くて遠い国」だった韓国が、まさに「一番近くの国」になり、
そのことで日韓の歴史に新たな1ページが刻まれたといえるでしょう。

Since the popular Korean drama, "Winter Sonata" in 2003 was introduced to Japan, Korean culture has had an unexpected boom.
And now K-POP has attracted people in Japan.
Judging from the history of the relationship between Japan and South Korea, it is incredible that Japanese girls have become enthusiastic about Korean idles.
Japanese and Korean have interacted in this new way that is not restricted by the past experience and Korea which used to be "the close and far country" is now just "the closest country".
It can be said that this added a new page to the history of Japan and Korea.
