韓国の家族
韓国は、100％の「家族主義」です。
日本や欧米でも、週末家族で過ごすことは当たり前のことであり、家族と
過ごす時間を大切にしますが、韓国において、家族主義はそういう意味では
使われることは、余りありません。
家族は、命より大切な集合体であり、その中には家長である父親を筆頭に、
きちんとした序列があるのです。
勿論、万国共通で、家族愛はあります。
しかしその一方で、家族が一つの組織のようでもあり、会社で平社員が上司に
逆らえないように、子供は親に逆らえません。
子供が成長して結婚相手を選ぶ時にも、最終的に結婚できるかどうかは、
両親の判断に委ねられます。
子供は自立して親とは離れた生活を送るようになりますが、親子の序列は
永遠に続き、子供は常に親を尊敬し続けます。
子供が成長したら、今度は子供が親の生活の面倒を見るのです。
日本にもかつてそのような家族内の序列社会はありましたが、欧米化に伴い、
かなり薄れたように思います。
韓国には、今だにそのような序列社会が家族内に存在し、その序列は、
兄弟姉妹の間でもきっちりあります。
今は結構兄弟が丁寧語抜きで普通に話すようになりましたが、最近まで、
目上の兄姉に対しても丁寧語で話さなくてはなりませんでした。
韓国で「家族」という言葉が使われた時には、日本や欧米の常識にはない、
特別な意味を含む言葉であると思っておいたほうがいいでしょう。

Family in Korea
Korean society is based on 100% familism.
Even in Japan, Europe and the United States, it is common to spend with family in the weekend and people love the time to spend with family.
However, familism in Korea is different from it.
Family is an important aggregate than life and there is the order of a family which is led by the the head of family members, father.
Of course, it is common for people in all nations to love their family.
On the other hand, family is like the one organization and children cannot go against their parents as employees cannot do against their bosses in the company.
When children grow up and choose a marriage partner, their parents decide finally whether their children are able to get married or not.
Children will be independent and live their lives apart from their parents.
However, the order of family endures for ever and children always keep to respect their parents.
Once children grow up, they take care of the lives of their parents in turn.
There used to be the order of family in Japan, but it seems quite faded after the country was westernized.
The order of family still exists in Korea and this order is also applied to the relationship among brothers and sisters.
Now brothers commonly talk each other without polite words, but until recently younger brothers and sisters had to speak with polite words to superior brothers and sisters.
When the word, family is used in Korea, it should be noted that this word contains a special meaning.
